A BIG-INK REMINDER
The Item: Natalie Portman & Hayden Christensen 2021 Topps Star Wars Masterwork Gold Dual Dutographs (1/1)

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a big card but I'm not totally sure it's $25,000 big ... but it might be given the crazy prices paid for stuff these days. This one leads off here just as a heads up that some big names are very possible in this new arrival that was delayed. You get four hits per box and my Buzz Break box ripped yesterday included ink three times. The multi-person autos include big names that can only be had on cardboard now via stickers but in the Star Wars world the big ink is big no matter what. Don't believe me? Check out the link below.

THIS YEAR'S TOP GUY?
The Item: Druw Jones 2022 Panini USA Baseball Stars & Stripes Longevity Holo Blue parallel (/60)
The Price: $29.99 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: He's the son of former Atlanta Braves star Andruw Jones and he's a candidate to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year's MLB Draft. He's made his cardboard debut on close to 70 different cards in this release with autographs, memorabilia cards and all kinds stuff you can see in USA releases on the cheap since they aren't pros costing pro money to sign on here. This one is a simple card but one on the rarer side of things. I'd be keeping an eye and scanning the checklist as well as listings to see what pops up on the affordable side of things. He's not alone, either, as USA stuff is always the home of many draft picks on their first cards well before draft time.

FRESH ARRIVALS
The Item: Mac Jones 2021 Panini Encased Rookie Dual-Swatch Signatures Sapphire (/25) (BGS 9) -- RC parallel
The Price: $11,000 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: I'm not a buyer at this price but like the first card today this one is here as a reminder that we're still getting new NFL cards on the regular this time of the year and that some of the biggest and baddest 2021 cards are still to come. I believe this is one of the slabbed cards found in these high-end boxes and this is a key name to be on the watch for. In fact, with arrivals coming so deep in the off-season I have to wonder whether 2021 RCs may be overlooked as people are mentally already set to see the rookies who trump these guys on the field this coming season.

BIG DEMAND ... BIG BUCKS?
The Item: Gable Steveson 2022 Panini Prizm WWE Gold Prizms (/10) (PSA 10)
The Price: $49,999 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This landmark release has had its share of big sales and big "sales" on rarities of the Black and Gold variety for names from the past pretty often here. The key if you ask me, though? It's not the old guys people are gobbling up that will have the gains they want over the long haul -- and there will be other releases later that will top interest here with flippers and dabblers over time. The key if you ask me is that this one is loaded with legitimate Rookie Cards -- stars who have never had any cards before -- all being found in one spot. There are more than 30 RCs last I looked (never really did a formal count but there are plenty) where they never had cards before. That's thanks in part to WWE revamping NXT to NXT 2.0 more than anything Panini did here and then NXT UK stars not having a boatload of past cards in general. RC labels here mean no previous cards while Topps had previously been working under the prospect card/Rookie Card approach with "First NXT card" logos on first cards and then a RC logo on cards when stars arrived on the Raw or Smackdown roster -- even in base sets together. In this case, everybody is in the main set so any first-year cards for guys like Steveson -- an Olympic champion who has yet to have his first match -- all year long would be a Rookie Card. This one is a big one -- I personally like the Golds far more than the 1/1 Blacks -- in terms of potential. I don't think it's worth that price -- and I don't believe the ongoing depth of demand to see all 10 copies of Golds commanding prices of first ones to market for all stars here -- but this one is going to be one of the most-important cards he'll ever have no matter how his career goes. (And, in his case, he's already got a firm place in NCAA/Olympic history.)

FINALLY, IT'S HERE ...
The Item: Shohei Ohtani 2021 Topps Big League Green parallel (/75)
The Price: $69 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This set has finally arrived and it's one that might be overlooked since it's not one built on hits in every box and it's pretty simple. But ... cards like this that aren't easy pulls statistically (one in 97 packs for a player in Green, one in 29,100 to land any specific one you want) with a few formats could make for simple cards like this tough to find later. Is it the most-important card to find for Ohtani? No. But a price like this might not be that outrageous over the long haul for a top player and considering the price of the box it arrived in. There are some surprising fun cards among eBay listings here so far, too. I will be watching this one and likely digging in once I see it in-person.
