What's Buzz-worthy: This one was just brutal. Sure, the RC volume is there and the inserts were OK but there was not a whole lot going on here at all beyond a couple of cards and even those two highlights are quite iffy in the big picture due to injuries and other options out there for your singles dollars. ... As I noted in a past break, this Update set is a little different than the norm -- it's still loaded with Rookie Cards but all of the All-Star stuff from this year isn't in there and that hurts with packs like this one. It was a COVID back-up/deadline thing for sure yet, let's be real here ... this year's highlights should be in next year's set. New stuff should be in Topps Now. I do miss the volume of stars that would always be seen here but this is how a set should be. ... The RC crop is deep, though, so that could help it some over time. ... I'd do a jumbo box if you're sold to get more inside and a guaranteed auto to boot. My hobby box had more than 100 Rookie Cards in it so there's a good chance somebody will emerge here at some point.
Product Grade: B+ (some slight changes vs. past years drop it here a little)
Box Grade: C- (Adell insert and Mercedes RC parallel maybe bailed this one out ... if you're a believer)
Fun Grade: C- (rough pack but not deficient)
